RANGATAHI ARTIST SCHOLARSHIPS
Open now!
These scholarships honour our late patron, Ioane (Johnny) Reuelu Penisula MNZM, a pioneering sculptor, stone carver, and painter who has been hugely influential, both nationally and internationally. Established with Johnny’s whanau, the scholarships reflect his profound generosity in sharing his knowledge and his unwavering advocacy for the arts. Johnny’s influence will continue to guide and inspire our communities into the future.
As Mīharo Murihiku Trust, our mission is to foster a hapori where Māori and Pasifika arts and culture are visible, valued, and thriving. We are dedicated to providing rangatahi with meaningful and attainable opportunities, just as Johnny did throughout his life.
These scholarships are our way of continuing his incredible work. They are designed to support, uplift, and encourage any rangatahi with a passion for the arts, in any form. If you are a young artist looking for some support in your artistic journey, we encourage you to apply!
Applications can be downloaded here, and emailed to anjelina@miharo.org, or dropped off to Mīharo, 28 Don Street, Invercargill.
Applications close 3pm, Friday 14th November.
This scholarship is proudly supported by One NZ and Mīharo Murihiku Trust
