Hiria brings a wealth of knowledge, and a wide range of skills, qualifications and

experiences, particularly in Kaupapa Māori and management environments. Hiria

moved to Mīharo from Waihōpai Rūnaka as their Operations Manager in 2021. She is very familiar with systems, processes and compliance to legislation. Lending her

insights to support and uplift kaupapa Māori initiatives is a high priority as is

providing pathways for rangatahi to reach their aspirations. She values education

a life-long journey and has been at the forefront of initiatives from kohanga reo to

university levels. Hiria considers her education at and work for the University of

Otago provided the platform to put her Master of Business Administration into

action. Her aims for Mīharo Murihiku are to enhance and develop our business

and ensure our financial viability remains strong. She is delighted to have two

mokopuna in close proximity living in Wanaka.
